Be like Dolly Campaign Begins: Sept 21st-October 10th. We’re celebrating 9/25 week and Dolly’s legacy by working with the Mid-Del Public School Foundation to stock school libraries. Visit our Books for Schools tab on our website to purchase books to donate to the Mid-Del Elementary Schools. You get to choose which Elementary school they will go to. From now until October 10th you can purchase books to donate. No need to pick up the books, once we recieve all the books, the Mid-Del Public School Foundation will deliver them to the schools. Be like Dolly and help get more books into kids hands.‍ ‍

Thriller Thursday Book Club: Thursday October 1st 5pm. Discussing Verity by Colleen Hoover. The group will be going to the movies afterwards to watch the movie together if you would like to join. Hosted by Down 2 Book Collective.

Community Game Night: Friday October 2nd 6p-9pm. Come meet new people and play new games. You are welcome to bring your own games as well.

OIBA Indie Bookstore Fall Crawl- October 3rd-10th. Grab some friends, make a plan, and hit up as many of the indie bookstores as you can in a week! Make your own junk journal fall crawl card at home or at our free art event on Oct 3rd from 12p-6pm. Share and tag us in a post of your finished card for a chance to win a $20 bookstore gift card!

Halloween/Fall Open Art: Saturday October 3rd noon-6pm. Come get creative and crafty with the art supplies we provide. Various fall crafts including DIY Fall Crawl junk journal Cards, Halloween book garlands and more! Come and go free event.

Banned Books Week - October 4th-10th. Help us make a stand against banning books! We’ll have free bookmarks and postcard activity to make your own postcard and mail it to our local state representatives to let them know how you feel about book bans. Get a free banned books reusable shopping bag with a $40 purchase that includes at least one banned book (while supplies last).

Yarn Magic- Tuesday October 6th 5p-7p. Free Beginners Crochet class. Yarn included. Bring your own hook/tools or purchase a kit in the store for $5. Call to reserve your spot, or just show up!

Banned Books Read-In - Friday October 9th 4pm-7pm - This Banned Books Week, we’re teaming up with librofm and Silent Book Club to host a Banned Books Read-In to protest book censorship. Bring your favorite banned book, find a comfy spot to read, and read silently. This can be a come and go event if you can’t make it the entire time. We will also have a postcard activity set up to create your own postcard to send to our local representatives to let them know how you feel about book bans. Attendees will also receive a free audio copy of either Banned Together or How to Defend Books and Why from Librofm! Give us a call to RSVP.

Word Weaver’s Society: Sunday October 11th 2p-4p. Monthly Writer meet up. There is also a FB group called Word Weavers Society you can request to join.

Monthly MWC PFLAG Meeting- Tuesday October 13th 6pm-7pm. The bookstore closes to the public one hour early for this confidential meeting. All PFLAG participants are welcome. We will be celebrating the MWC satellite group’s 1st anniversary with a potluck dinner.

Sprayed Edge Book Class - Saturday October 17th 1p-3p. Bring a book and learn how to create sprayed edges. $30. When you sign up you will get a google form to let Sam know what book you will be bringing and your ideas for the design. She will create a custom stencil for your book. Must preregister. Junk Journal Open Studio- Sunday October 18th 12pm-4pm. Workshop: 12pm-2pm Open studio: 2pm-4pm. Bring your journal and learn some page layouts during the workshop, supplies provided. Community in Action Meeting: Wednesday October 22nd 6:30p-8pm. Come talk about the Mid-Del community issues that matter to you. Discussion will be led by Marcus Hayes. We invite everyone to come talk about and learn more about community issues in a respectful and courteous manner as we explore ways to get more plugged in and how to take action to make our city the best it can be. Our community is stronger when we get plugged in and join the conversation.

Bedazzle & Blooms Pumpkins: Thursday October 29th 5p-7p. Add some glamour to your fall decor. Start with a 4-inch artificial white pumpkin. Then add your choice of gems, ribbons, paint and pressed flowers to create your own work of art. All supplies provided $15. Sign up in the online store.

A Court of Splintered Harmony Party- Friday October 30th 7p-11pm. Tickets are $55 with a copy of the book included, or $30 without. If you preorder tickets that include the book, the book can be picked up on release date on the 27th. The party includes activities, snacks and 2 drink tickets from the Sipsy Schooner who will be there serving drinks. Costume contest and trivia for prizes! Get your tickets in the online store.

Writing Horror & Suspense Writing Workshop: Saturday October 31st 1pm-3pm. $20 LMG (Mike) Swain is the award-winning author of 15 novels from Simon & Schuster, Penguin, and Grossett & Dunlap. He is a prolific, multi‑genre author blending horror, speculative fiction, and YA adventure, with a strong background in education and a dedicated following in the Oklahoma literary community. Swain has created a writing Horror Suspense Workshop for writers of all skill levels and will be teaching his craft in a hands-on and engaging way during this workshop.
